Baltimore Mental Health Alliance

The Black Mental Health Alliance of Education and Consultation promotes holistic, culturally sensitive behavioral health resources, information, education, training & consultation. BMHA is a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides training, consultation, support groups, resource referral, public information, and educational resources regarding mental health and mental illness issues. The guiding Principles of BMHA’s mental health programs, trainings, and consultations are “Concern for Others, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, and Empowerment.”

House of Ruth

The House of Ruth Maryland leads the fight to end violence against women and their children by confronting the attitudes, behaviors and systems that perpetuate it, and by providing victims with the services necessary to rebuild their lives safely and free of fear.

Department of Human Services

The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) is the state’s primary social service provider, serving over one million people annually.  The Department, through its 24 local departments of social services, aggressively pursues opportunities to assist people in economic need, provide preventive services, and protect vulnerable children and adults in each of Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City.
